Guide to Latest Anti-Virus

Your guide to the latest in the security software industry

Apparently, when you are developing software today, you must make sure that they are compatible with the operating systems that they are meant to be with. This is the case for most anti-virus software that seem to leave out the fact that they cannot be used by customers if they don’t exist well with the preferred operating system.

Even the giants have their share of these overlooked aspects of software development. They just have to broaden their scope since they have to live up to their name as reliable security guards for computer systems that want to be free from the headaches of viruses and malware today.

Apparently, the gauge for good anti-virus software these days is how they can jell with the service pack releases of Microsoft and ensure that there will be no conflicts of whatsoever in properly determining viruses. Apparently, three companies, Trend, Sophos and McAfee have failed to make the grade and will be posing more problems rather than results for Microsoft Vista Users.

So it’s back to the drawing board for these three as they have to integrate their software with Microsoft Vista standards to be able to co-exist with this operating system. It looks like they have to broaden their scope all the more to keep their rankings of reliability intact.

As far as being up to date in the world of viruses and issues on the web, most anti-virus software companies today are trying to aggressively find ways to make their respective software recognize these harmful files that plague the web.

Based on statistics from past years, the rampant growth of viruses and malware have been a cause for concern and most anti-virus software available today have their own line of preference in identifying and curing such problems. If you look at it, there is no single software that can safely protect your computer. They just have to work together and produce that one complete anti-virus software everyone can count on.

Most of us have computers and normally they are based on a Windows environment. Now before Windows came along, Macintosh was the talk of the town. Ever since the evolution of Windows Operating Systems however, the need for anti-virus programs to safeguard our systems has been an issue. But how come a MAC doesn’t need one?

Depending on the case, MAC users do not download like crazy and their systems are believed to be more stable than Windows. This may be a case to case basis however but a MAC normally can operate on its own since it does not usually gather much bugs like the average personal computer.

Previously, I mentioned that there was no need for anti-virus software to protect MACS but apparently Symantec has made one anyway. With all the malicious behavior going on in the web today, no operating system is safe from the viruses lingering out on the web today.

Symantec on Monday introduced Norton AntiVirus Dual Protection for Mac. It costs $69.95 (that price includes a one-year subscription for virus updates).

The new software package combines Norton AntiVirus 2008 for Windows with Norton AntiVirus 11 for Mac. It’s intended for users of Intel-based Macs who have both Mac OS X and Windows running on their computers.

As far as making sure your systems are safe and secure, Trend Micro Systems may be looking a lot red these days since they were reportedly hacked. Just imagine a site that is supposed to offer software to protect patronizing clients that cannot even safeguard its own system? Now that is indeed embarrassing.

One reason for it was vulnerabilities in the area of its own system. So with that said, how can you trust a company that cannot even protect its own? Trend Micro Systems officials better come up with a good explanation if they are to keep the trust of their customers.

Ever wonder why the service packs are released periodically by the Microsoft Corporation? Well for one, they are also doing the same thing of protecting and upgrading their operating systems from new attacks that are developed everyday.

Anti-virus software is still needed but as far as stand alone operating systems are concerned, basic protection is still needed. Anti-virus software protects as well, but these should be pointed more towards the advanced issues such as malware and Trojans which are all over the web today. Most of them come from emails and websites visited and to make sure they don’t find their way into you computer, it would be best to be ready.

Most people with computers these days are always on the lookout for a complete package to cover spywares and viruses. While a lot of companies have released their own versions, focus will certainly be on the F-Secure Internet 2008 software release which has been hyped to cover all known malicious behavior solicited from the web today.

While some may consider the F-Secure Internet 2008 software as similar to other anti-virus software we hear of today, it remains that this latest release covers even mobile computers and boasts of its DeepGuard technology to get rid of those malicious viruses hanging around there.
